3-Ingredient Decadent Chocolate Truffles

Here’s a super easy-to-make recipe for delicious raw vegan chocolate truffles that requires only 3 ingredients. These truffles are sweet, soft, flavorful, rich and decadent.

The three ingredients that you need are dates, coconut oil and cocoa or cacao powder. The dates give them sweetness, the coconut oil makes the texture amazing and the cocoa powder gives them a wonderful flavor.

These truffles are suitable for people who follow a paleo diet, and for people who have nut allergies too. However, if you have a nut allergy, consult with a specialist to find out whether you can consume coconut oil. Most people don’t have any problems with it, but there are exceptions.

A bonus idea: add some orange zest to the mixture (I love the combination between chocolate and orange), or roll the truffles in shredded coconut or ground nuts.

 

3-Ingredient Decadent Chocolate Truffles

 

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup of dates
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil – melted
  • 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa or cacao powder + some more to roll the truffles
  • Some water to soak your dates – optional, if your dates are very dry

 

Preparation

My dates were very dry, so I soaked them in water for about an hour. You can skip this step if your dates are still juicy.

Put the dates in a food processor and process until they become a puree.

Add the melted coconut oil and the cocoa powder and process again until you have a homogeneous mixture. The mixture or the dough should look like thick chocolate mousse. Try not to eat it straight from the cup! 😀

Put it in the fridge for about an hour until it’s hard enough for you to make balls out of it.

 

Make the balls and roll them in the cocoa powder. Keep them in the fridge, because the coconut oil melts very easily.
